I have a couple of prayer requests. Daniel Petkus, the (upright) bass player in the qroup I am in (Highway 41) cut off about an inch and a half of his middle finger on his left hand Friday afternoon. He did it in a sheet metal press. He had just gotten a brand new bass (orderered 2 weeks ago) and was excited to practice at his place in Elijay. As Grady Clark and I were traveling to Elijay yesterday morning, Daniel called and gave us the news. The other prayer request is for a dear friend at a church (Chapel Woods Presbyterian) I used to be on staff. His name is Wille Foote, he was the Metro Atlanta Youth For Christ Director. He had an accident, also in Elijay, at Gilmer Co. High School. He fell off of the 2nd step of a ladder or the 2nd step going up to the stage (details are fuzzy) and suffered some brain damage and was taken to a hospital in Chattanooga, Tn. I just got this update:
All, We found out this morning the results of the latest cat scan. The swelling in the brain had increased. This wasn't the news we wanted to hear. Virginia's brother-in-law came and he is a doctor. He was able to look at the medical charts and help us understand more what is going on. The bleeding in the brain has not stopped. He did say that he was encouraged with Willie's movement. It is a sign that he is aware of his surroundings and can tell when people are visiting him. This is the most critical time for the bleeding to stop in the next couple of days or surgery may be required to go in and try to stop the bleeding. Today most of the family were able to come and be here for the weekend. That was great encourgement for Virginia. Also,Mom is still very encouraged with the emails I have recieved. Thank you. Also, a friend of the family contacted us and has offered us a place to stay just 20 minutes from the hospital. At this time I will have to return to Orlando on Tuesday. Now is the time we will juggle our schedules to make sure mom isn't alone and has the support she needs. Thank you for all the support. -- Daryl Foote
Thank you and God bless -- Eric Cain
