1 Timothy 1:1c -- Our Savior and our Hope

1 Timothy 1:1 (NIV):

"Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,"

Paul is sent forth by Christ Jesus by the command:

1. of God our Savior and
2. of Jesus Christ our hope.

Let's look briefly at those two aspects of God's character that command us to be sent forth: our Savior and our Hope.

I've been sent forth to serve Christ because He is my Savior. As Rick Warren says...I've been saved to serve. I haven't been saved to sit. Part of my purpose in life is that I've been made to serve others and to help them find their purpose in life.

I've also been sent forth to serve Christ because He is my Hope. In fact, Christ is my only real hope for living. And because He is my Hope, I want everyone else to find that hope.

Father, thank You for saving me and giving me a hope. Help me to share your love with others so they may find salvation and hope in You as well.
